Here are some pretty good news for Apple investors, although these are news that most likely won’t have a major impact on most of the rest of us.
German car manufacturer BMW, known for their luxurious, high priced, and expensive to repair cars, announced that they’re now offering full Apple iPhone integration with BMW MINI models, BMW 6 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 1 Series and BMW X5 car models.
At the same time, it feels like BMW is playing catch-up with another luxury car manufacturer Audi, that announced last month compatibility with Apple iPhone (which is all the more surprising, because both of these car manufacturers are based in Germany, where Apple iPhone doesn’t even have a set release date yet).
Of course, access to your iPhone via the vehicle controls and central information or radio display will only be available with BMW cars equipped with iPod/USB interface. The iPod/USB interface is available on 3 and 5 Series with 03/07 production, the X5 with 04/07 production and the 6 Series with 09/07 production date.

Apple iPhone Installer.app is without a doubt the most useful unauthorized third party Apple iPhone program, that simplifies the installation of other third party programs.
iPhone Installer.app v2.4 has a brand new GUI installer, it’s compatible with iPhone firmware v1.0 and v1.0.2. It needs to be uploaded via iPHone Utility Client if you don’t have it installed yet. As the description goes:
Installer.app is a UIKit based package manager for the iPhone. It works by downloading packages over WiFi (wireless networking). It supports installing, updating and uninstalling applications. To install, simply copy the Installer.app bundle to your /Applications folder on your iPhone and restart SpringBoard (or reboot your iPhone) — an Installer icon will appear. It is recommended that SCP is used for copying, such that executable permissions are preserved.
If package installations are hanging on the “Unpacking package…” step, make sure you have done chmod + x ditto in the Installer.app folder. Or use SCP, as suggested above.
