As an iPhone owner if you have a Gmail account, then the only way to access Gmail on your iPhone was through the browser, all you needed to do was go to m.gmail.com to get the full Gmail experience including conversation view, search, and more. If you’ve been lamenting the absence of UK-based news reporting on your iPod (what, really?) then you’ll be overjoyed to hear that ITN, who produce the factual bulletins for British channel ITV, have signed a deal with Apple that will see their mobile news and entertainment content available as free downloads via iTunes. The footage will be funded by a video advert from Ad Infuse shown beforehand.

For a moment it seemed like all-systems-go for Canada, where legions of Apple-hungry shoppers with wads of Canadian dollars burning holes in their pockets have been anxiously waiting for the iconic handset, as Molson Export - a beer company based in Quebec - advertised a competition in which several iPhones are to be the prize. Listed as using the Rogers Wireless network and worth $800 each, it was claimed the handsets would be delivered to winners in January 2008.
