OS X ‘Screen Sharing’ channels Leopard to ASUS Eee

How about an ultraportable notebook with Mac OS X Leopard, great battery life and all for around $299?  Well, not quite, but jkOnTheRun’s Kevin Tofel has been experimenting with ways to access his Mac system on the move via his latest toy: ASUS’ Eee.  In case you’ve been out of touch for the past few months (or maybe have your permanent Mac-only filters set to ‘high’!) but the Eee is a Linux-powered super compact laptop intended for new users or people looking for a cheap second machine.  Kevin has been playing with its ability to connect via VNC to OS X’s Screen Sharing - basically a cutesy way of describing VNC - hence this image of what looks like an Eee running Leopard.

Deutsche Telekom CEO Warns of Possible Shortages for German iPhone Launch

Over by the Rhine, supply may not meet demand. Today, Deutsche Telekom AG (DT) CEO Rene Obsermann told CNBC Europe that this season's Christmas sales may outstrip the available supply. "We're not giving out precise forecasts, but registrations on our Web site lead me to believe (the Christmas sales period) will be a strong sales period," said Obermann.

The queue have started today around lunchtime in front of Apple Store Regent Street, about 6 people so far at 6pm, and they wait under the rain…

CEH Confirms Greenpeace iPhone Report

The Center for Enviornmental Health, a California based activist group, claims that they were able to recreate Greenpeace's test results for the iPhone which found toxic and potentially harmful chemicals present in the device's hardware. They claim to have found a presence of philates, a chemical used to increase the flexability of PVC plastics (and which hinder sexual development in mammals), in places including a pair of iPhone cables.
