Game developer Hudson plans to release games for the iPhone and iPod Touch, available online. Hudson, for older readers and gamers alike, developed the original Bomberman (Wiki).
According to Hudson, the games will not be native to Mac OS X, but will be available via download through a portal online.
The portal is scheduled to open on December 12th, or Wednesday this week. The few games that will be available are a tile-flipping game which includes Bomberman, a “Where’s Waldo” type of game, as well as a game involving spotting different things inside of pictures. More information is available on Hudson’s website here (though it’s in Japanese).
John Greiner, CEO of Hudson, said in an interview with Nintendo Players: “Part of it has to do with the iPod’s limitations; it’s terrible for a gaming platform, and iTunes is not an optimal games distribution environment. We hope to do much better on the iPhone.”
Hudson promises to make games readily available on a steady basis, so check back on their website for updates.

Although it’s more musician-oriented, Alex le Lievre has designed an iPhone app that allows you to control Pro Tools, via Wi-Fi, on your computer, through your iPhone.
While using the app over WiFi, you connect to a server program/MIDI controller on the actua lcomputer, which allows you to then control all features normally from the touch of your finger.
Mr. Lievre says he plans to sell the app when the iPhone’s SDK hits in February, so be prepared, iPhone-wielding musicians interested in such control. Although there isn’t currently a download of it yet, here’s a video of the app in use:
