According to researchers with the investment bank Goldman Sachs, they say that after meeting with key component suppliers in Asia that they have much reason to believe that Apple will introduce two ‘revisions’ of the iPhone in 2008. On top of this interesting news, a supposed overhaul to Apple TV during the second half of the year is also expected.
“Apple will refresh its entire Mac line-up throughout 2008, but information about the potential launch of a subnotebook was scarce, with one supplier saying that the product may be pushed out, citing possible design issues,” says analyst David Bailey.

“Both the iPod Touch and nano are seeing strength while iPod shuffle demand seems stable, which should cause blended average selling prices (ASPs) to come in above our $150 estimate,” he continued.
It was said that he believed that being developed is a second-generation iPhone in the final stages of design, expected for release around the second half of 2008. Features were simply thought to be 3G and perhaps minor technical upgrades, though the other iPhone being mentioned will probably have “a smaller upgrade with more flash memory earlier in the year.” Mr. Bailey said.
According to Asian contracts of his, he had reason to believe that Apple was going to make changes to Apple TV, which “could include an LCD display” he said.
We previously mentioned about Apple designing a cheaper model iPhone without a touch screen, which seems completely viable for those wanting the sleek and sexy device but without a fat and sweaty wallet.

Picasa is a recently released type of Facebooks app, that allows you to organize pictures into albums online, or add into them, via PC, Mac, or now, an iPhone.
This support came after a software engineer whom worked on Picasa ended up using an iPhone, and was impressed by it. When he went to use Picasa on the handset, he wasn’t quite satisfied, and went on the next day to fix that.

Links are available for the PC version, and Mac version.
Facebook is already available on the iPhone, but if you have any preference for Picasa, you’ll be happily surprised.

It appears that the iPhone revolutionized the mobile phone market not only by creating new standards and qualities of using an internet enabled hybrid mobile phone and music player. Apple is currently also the only mobile phone producer that managed to convince mobile service providers to pay it a share of their revenue from iPhone’s calls and services.
Nokia - the top selling mobile handsets manufacturer in the world - is trying to to win a similar deal for itself. Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo stated the following in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung:

“As far as mobile phones are concerned we are sticking with our old business model - that is, we get paid for our devices. But for providing new services we are seriously considering a shared turnover model.”
Apparently the share of mobile phone operators’ revenue that Apple gets at the moment amounts to an impressive 30% — in addition to the price of the device. No wonder that other operators are rather concerned by the situation. That is considered to be the real reason why in Germany Vodafone sued T-mobile over the exclusively locked to T-Mobile distribution model for iPhones there.

One of the test engineers working on Windows 7, Hilton Locke, dropped a post today pimping Dell's Latitude XT that also contained this little nugget:I will say that if you are impressed by the "touch features" in the iPhone, you'll be blown away by what's coming in Windows 7.
