A new program is being introduced into the mobile market to allow easier supply of mobile book buying and reading. Introduced by TextOniPhone.com, this new service adds intuitivity to your browsing and mobile book indulging. For the full skippy, please read the press release below. Check out Apple’s web app page for details, otherwise.

For authors and publishers, the growing audience of TextOnPhone provides an ideal promotional platform for mobile marketing of print works that are available in stores or online. Authors in the Portable Reading network can share short stories and book excerpts with readers and communicate directly within their social network, an approach which is particularly effective at reaching young readers who spend extensive time with their mobile devices.
It offers a library of over 20,000 books in 37 languages along with short stories and book excerpts contributed by contemporary authors. Among the many features of TextOnPhone is the ability to cache content for offline access, discussion boards attached to individual pages and passages, interactive author forums, and tools for aspiring authors to upload their writings for others to read.
“As countless new waves of Digital Natives begin demanding the ability to electronically consume all forms of content, including books and narrative text,” says Jeff Gomez, author of Print Is Dead: Books in Our Digital Age, “services like PortableReading will be in a great position to easily deliver content in a format that fits this generation’s mobile lifestyle.”
“I’m excited to be a part of this PortableReading project,” states Ellen Sussman, author of ‘Bad Girls: 26 Writers Misbehave.’ “Just imagine — people might read a story or novel excerpt on their mobile phone and decide to spend the rest of the evening at home reading a book! What a perfect lure.”
“It’s exciting to see how new technologies are revolutionizing the way that authors and readers interact,” reports Mark Coggins, author of the Silicon Valley noir classic ‘Vulture Capital.’ “PortableReading is a great example of how mobile reading can work to everyone’s advantage.”
