Portable Sound Laboratories, a producer of portable speaker systems, today unveiled the iMainGo 2 for iPhone at the CES 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A re-engineered upgrade to their first product, iMainGo, the iMainGo 2 was designed to offer high-end sound quality and amazing light weight (only 9 oz.) portability to customers who use the Apple iPhone.

Overall the iMainGo 2 is a protective case that doubles as a powerful stereo speaker. The iMainGo 2 has been created to provide even greater sound performance as opposed to its predecessor due to its’ upgraded high quality titanium speakers; giving the iMainGo 2 a good sound quality.

Don’t Worry, Your iPhone Probably Won’t Get You Mugged

Now the UK’s National Mobile Phone Crime Unit (NMPCU) says that the fear of being robbed of your iPhone while out in public, should not be substantial, although the MICAF (Mobile Industry Crime Action Forum) previously said that it’s the other way around. Simply being aware of your surroundings is your best defense, according to the NMPCU.

Inspector Chris Paice of the NMPCU told our source: “Most of the iPhones stolen have been the result of shoplifting rather than street crime, robberies or the use of violence.

Mr. Paice went on to say: “Operation Prestige was a huge success particularly as it was run over the winter with darker evenings and the clocks going back. We did not carry out an operation on this scale last year and so have little to compare it with. However we did see a marked decrease in robberies and street crimes during the period that the operation ran compared to the same period last year.” — Overall, 324 devices were recovered, with a total of 56 arrests made to yield them.

If this is the case, perhaps you won’t need to petition for an upgraded iPhone including tazer. The best way to prevent something bad happening, is to keep your back to a wall and don’t wave your iPhone around visibly. If nothing else, keep the receipt and hope Apple will replace it.

Despite the iPhone being a not-so-thrifty doodad, Wesabe has designed software for managing your finances and spending habits, including bank and credit card accounts, via web access through your iPhone.

To access Wesabe iPhone Mobile, members simply point the web browser on
their iPhone to i.wesabe.com. Wesabe has a multitude of features, including:

logo-home.jpg

  • View a single list of all their bank and credit card account balances
    anytime they want
  • See any transactions that have posted to their accounts. Just as the
iPhone’s email application lets users view as many emails as they’d
like, the Wesabe website allows members to see as many transactions as they
    want.
  • Enter cash purchases they’ve made while shopping
  • The Wesabe service utilizes SSL connections and authentication –
keeping member data safe and private yet readily available. Members’
account balances and transactions are encrypted — a level of protection
that SMS-based services do not offer.
