One of the most popular native third party iPhone Application has been Navizon's Virtual or faus GPS for the iPhone thanks to Global Positioning System (GPS) feature missing from iPhone's rich feature list. Navizon has introduced some new features to its Virtual GPS iPhone application, one of most interesting of them called “moving mode†that will update your location every 10 seconds, thus providing an even closer emulation of real GPS.

The rumour sites are going crazy at the moment. Obviously not content with their share price falling, Apple have either deliberately leaked fake stories or are actually taking serious action over the next few weeks to combat the oncoming recession.
The newest rumour is that a $100 price drop on both iPhones and iPod Touch's will be occuring over the next 3 weeks. This, to me, sounds a little bit ridiculous, considering that the 16GB iPhone and 32 Gb iPod Touch were released only last week. Surely Apple must have learnt their lesson after last year's debacle, when the reaction forced Steve to offer $100 store credit to the iPhone's early adopters.
Perhaps not- the usually reliable
9to5mac are reporting this news, supposedly suggested by a reliable source. Further to this, the 8GB iPod Touch and iPhone will be discontinued... not likely- why would Apple cut their iPhone line down to just one high-priced model, when the lower priced version is most likely to achieve that '10 million by end of 2008' figure. Whether Apple pulls this off, without a negative reaction, will remain to be seen, but I'm going to step out here and say that this isn't going to happen. It makes no sense to cut prices a mere 3 weeks after a new release...

Apple is planning on dropping the prices again on the iPhone and iPod line within the next month or two - perhaps at the late February event. Our tipster says that Apple will drop the prices $100 on both the iPod Touch and iPhone lines. Also, the 8Gb iPod Touch will be dropped from the lineup according to the source. It would also make sense that the 8Gb iPhone would get phased out as well, but it wasn't mentioned in the tip. Inventories will likely be a big factor in the timing so we're keeping an eye out for shortages.
The price drops are likely to make some price spacing for the newer 3G iPhones that are expected to drop later this year - perhaps with the tablets. The price cuts will also likely spur on iPhone sales which have either been good or bad depending on the week and the source. No specifics were given but the iPod Nano line might also be the beneficiary of decreased memory pricing and might see capacities double in size.
The new prices are expected to be:
8Gb iPod Touch $199 8Gb iPhone - $299
16Gb iPod Touch $299 16Gb iPhone - $399
32Gb iPod Touch $399
