Happy Birthday… TO US!

Yes, it's iPhone Alley's birthday. It's hard to believe that we've actually been around for a whole year doing iPhone news, reviews, tips, etc. We wouldn't still be around if it wasn't for all of our readers, so to show our gratitude to you all, everyone will be getting a piece of cake.

Update: MacUpdate Promo unlocks Parallels

mupromo.png

The MacUpdate promo has unlocked both Parallels and BannerZest (as well as Sound Studio), reversing my prior concerns, and making the bundle one heck of a good deal. Parallels alone (which I have used the heck out of), is worth the $64.99 price of entry, getting BannerZest tossed in is just icing. As per my previous review, Art-Text and DVDRemaster pro also seem to be pretty handy utilities, adding value to the bundle. But the unlocking of parallels is what really tips it over the edge for me.

Only three days left, folks.

Apple In Talks To License Haptic Feedback For iPhone?

Apple has been looking far and wide to solve their tactile feedback dilemma with the iPhone, and it looks like they may have found their solution. Rumor has it that a recent report says that they have begun negotiations with Immersion, the people who supplied the haptic feedback (wiki) technology to several of Nokia's handsets.

Control your iTunes remotely with iRemote

I can not count the times I have been half way across the room sprawled out on a bean bag chair, wishing I could change the song playing on my computer. Thankfully, there is finally a solution out there. A new piece of software called iRemote has been made available. iRemote enables you to take control of your iTunes list from a far. It does not use a local network connection to your computer, so there is no hassle to set things up.

iRemote works by allowing users to use wkLive authentication to gain access to their computer. The application requires no configuration on the users end. This means no messing with your router, as the request goes out externally to the internet. Another plus, no VNC client or configuration is needed. This application is meant to give no headaches.

The steps to install are very easy. As of now, it appears to be a PC only affair. The application for the computer is marked with the ominous .exe extension, most likely there is or will be a Mac version later. The instructions can be found here. Also there are all the files you will need to get started.

Black 3G iPhone Pic Just A Black Case

Remember that picture of a black iPhone that people have suspected to be the new 3G iPhone's look? Well, WinandMac has busted the rumor with another photo and some background info. Apparently the mystery device is actually an iPhone in a protective case only available in Hong Kong. The mixup is understandable, considering the case is only available in Hong Kong, and I'm not sure what's going on with that etching on the back that so closely resembles a normal iPhone.
