AmTech Analyst Recommends Apple Keep 2.5G iPhones in Stock in Face of Anticipated 3G iPhone Release
American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu has written that Apple will not abandon its 2.5G technology when it reveals its highly-anticipated 3G iPhone as early as next week. In his report, Wu argues that, based on supply rain checks, Apple will use the Worldwide Developers Conference to announce simultaneous sales of both the 2.5G and 3G units. Wu also predicted that the 3G handsets will sell for “similar to current price points,” while the 2.5G phones will sell for between $50 and $100 cheaper.
