Carphone and staff struggle over iPhone insurance
UK iPhone distributor Carphone Warehouse is just now supposedly fixing the situation, seeing as some information was dug up by Mobile Today about the mis-selling of insurance towards the iPhone in UK.
Mobile Today found emails telling all of the details, soon after Carphone dismissed claims the BBC story alleging that Carphone Warehouse mis-sold the iPhone insurance, and stated that it was not “a fair reflection of the experience of thousands of iPhone customers who have received insurance advice in our stores“.

Allegations started on BBC’s Watchdog that staff had told customers that they had to sign a new contract if their iPhone got lost or stolen without any insurance, costing 900 Euros in total (though only having to replace the iPhone itself).
Carphone’s Andrew Harrison defended the actions of his employees whom improperly represented the insurance, and said: “I sent the guys in store an email, telling them I didn’t blame any of them”
Basically, Carphone’s employees got mixed up and sold insurance and iPhones without the proper information following them, screwing over people who thought they actually had insurance, or didn’t buy it. Though it’s getting cleared up now, some people were probably very angry about this, rightfully so.
