iPhone TIPS: Kindle vs Tablet is like Black White TV vs Color TV

A lot of reports today about the Apple iTablet, iPad, iSlate, iPlate, iPhone HD XXL. Here is a round-up before we meet coming Wednesday. According to several reports in the blogosphere,  the New York Times is at Apple’s headquarters to  optimize her iPhone app for the Tablet. The larger screen and video capabilities of the Apple tablet will be fully utilized by the new app version.

“A team from the New York Times has been working in Apple’s Cupertino, Calif. headquarters in recent weeks, developing a large-screen version of the newspaper’s iPhone application that incorporates video for the yet-to-be-unveiled device, according to one person with knowledge of the matter,” The Los Angeles Times reports.

Fellow blog 9to5mac reports about information given by theri publishing friends in an article today. One of the key points quoted

Apple was looking for content to bring to the event — perhaps one example — but doesn’t expect to have large libraries of material in their book store until “mid 2010 at the very earliest

Also something about the device size and the real game changer - Apple’s software -

no prototypes were brought to the meetings, but the tablet was described as “a very-readable 10-inch glass screen smaller in size than the Kindle DX with a similar weight.” The Apple people also mentioned that the “software was the key to the experience and it would be the game changer”. Apple also made the analogy of the shift from Black and White televisions to Color with respect to the Kindle vs. the Tablet

And also something about the price - below or far above $1000 ?

They say it isn’t going to cost anywhere near $1000 as has been reported elsewhere.
