Easyishop Launches iPhone 3G Products, Accessory Web Store

On Thursday, UK-based retailer Easyishop announced the launch of its new web store for upcoming iPhone 3G products and accessories. The first product, the Full Body Shield, offers 100% coverage of the iPhone 3G’s screen and body via the same technology the military uses to protect helicopter blades.

iPhone ChocoCase Looks Delicious, Fattening

There are a lot of protective cases for the iPhone on the market. There are practical ones, cleverly designed ones, cool-looking ones, and then there’s Homade.

The Homade ChocoCase (not to be confused with home-made) is a silicone case designed to look like a chocolate bar — inside and out. Presented in a cardboard chocolate bar-style box, the rubbery chocolate skin within features a thick segmented chocolate design on the back (er, top) and an open area on the front (er, bottom) of the bar, with access cutouts where appropriate. It doesn’t even block the light or proximity sensors, so that’s good.

Of course, you’ll end up doubling the thickness of your iPhone, which may make you feel like you’re lugging around a Nokia N800 with its case, but if your love for the iPhone is second only to your obsession with chocolate, then this just might tickle your fancy. Just remember, it does not double as emergency rations if you run out of the real stuff and get desperate.

Griffin case mold reveals 3G iPhone design

If there are any doubts about the legitimacy of the recently leaked 3G iPhone case specifications, they may finally be put to rest. Though the information is not exactly confirmed by anyone, but it is a pretty elaborate hoax to make your own 3G iPhone case mold. The mold design seems to fit the rumored case specifications, so this may just turn out to be the real thing.

As you can see, these mold plates fit the rumored specifications very nicely, and the sensor placement in the mold matches them as well. The mold is clearly form Griffin, who is considered to be very creditable, and the authority when it comes to accessories. The fact that it says Griffin, in itself gives this rumor a whole bunch more credibility.

While it is possible it is a hoax with a little clever Photo Shop work going on, it is a very good amount of work to go through. If the mold turns out to be real, and assuming they are using it now, we could see Griffin iPhone cases as soon as launch day for the new iPhone.

iControlPad: iPhone games PSP style

If the all touch interface on the iPhone is not your style when it comes to games, then the iControlPad may just be for you. The peripheral enables your iPhone to be in a casing that allows for a PSP like feel. It adds physical buttons to the iPhone for the purpose of playing games. The iControlPad will be providing full SDK support, and also source code so developers can get their games to work with the unit.

The peripheral works by connecting to the iPhone’s dock. According to the designer, support for the iControlPad is already built in to most of the game emulators, and they are sending out more units to try to get more universal support. The device will have to get around one problem though, the SDK does not allow unprejudiced access to the dock connector.

The device as of now is in its prototype stage. They promise that the final version of the unit will be “much more sleek and fitting”. You can check out there website here, where they have a status blog and contact information.

iPhone accessory manufacturers getting 3G iPhone specifications early?

More hints about the appearance of the 3G iPhone have been leaked. Though the information is not confirmed, there is still an image floating around that possibly depicts the dimensions and shape of the new iPhone. This image is more of a blueprint. It is rumored that this picture was leaked to iPhone accessory manufacturers, so they could begin preparing accessories for the device ahead of time.

3G iPhone Case Specs

This image depicts quite a few valuable specifications about the new iPhone. First, it is clear it tapers off at the sides. This means it is thicker in the center of the device, then at the sides of the device. We can also see that the screen size is not going to change. It is clear that the speakers are going to be changed into larger holes as opposed to a grille. The dock connector, for whatever reason, is now rounded at the edges.

Now for that last window. It lists ‘color options’. Of these there are black and white. Ok, that is normal and expected. Wait, but what is that off maroon colored one? Well, it could be part of Apple’s PRODUCT(RED) initiative, we have seen iPods in this dress before. There is an unknown new sensor on the new iPhone. It is assumed this could be a second lower resolution camera, possibly for video chat or video calls.
