Get and install a bunch of 3th party games and applications will result in the lack op widget space on your iPhone main screen. Problem: There is only space for four of them on that screen, in the blank line under the official widgets. Well, here at iPhone Tips and Tricks, we found the solution at cre.ations.net The new Dock, from Nate True at cre.ations.net takes a typically Apple-like approach. Install the application and the bottom row of icons on the "Springboard" (iPhone's main screen) becomes scrollable in exactly the same smooth way as any iPhone scrolling. The video below shows how it works:
Q: How to get it and install it? A: To install, you can use iBrickr or Breezy and download the package or just select Dock from the Applications list. Q: Is it opensource code? A: Yes, get the source here
It is hard to install applications on an iPhone. Plus it is not supported (yet). While Microsoft platforms has an built-in option under the ControlPanel called "Add or Remove Programs" the iPhone has not. The community already made progress installing all kinds of software. To keep the installation of applications simple, a new tool, called Installer.app, is developed to provide "Add or Remove Programs" functionality on your iPhone. But how?
2 download the iPhoneInstaller.zip package 3. first read the installation instructions in the README warning: **from here you are on your own, and it is BETA software so be extra carefull** 4. install it from your mac (PPC or Intel). Q. You don't have a mac? A. Install Installer.app manually, you can do so by taking the Installer.app application in the above-linked zip and copying it to your iPhone using SCP. Remember that both Installer and ditto need to be set executable (ie. chmod +x Installer ditto). nullriver Pffff this is the hardway..... Note: the pic is photoshopped, no Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid or Zelda ported yet as far as I know ;)
