Ici au R-U il n'est pas rare que le contact d'iPod soit décrit en tant que « tout meilleur peu de l'iPhone » avec les pièces moins-réussies (le téléphone de non-3G, l'appareil-photo relatif-pauvre, et naturellement la serrure de porteur) omises ; Loup s de Charlie d'analyste de Needham et de Co voulant miser un autre, de quelque manière que : il réclame qu'Apple a abandonné 1.5 million de ventes d'iPhone pendant le Q4 2007 en libérant le contact avec son ensemble de dispositif d'almost-iPhone, et d'ailleurs a su exactement ce qu'elles faisaient.
« Si la compagnie est réussie dans cet effort, elle fournirait un chemin contraignant de mise à niveau pour 85 millions de personnes estimés qui déjà posséder des iPods. Et il pourrait attirer de nouveaux utilisateurs à l'iPhone et à la plateforme d'iPod aussi bien. La compagnie semble disposée à risquer la cannibalisation d'un nombre significatif d'iPhones pour accomplir ceci » Loup, analyste, Needham et Cie. de Charlie.

La recherche du iPhones absents continue, l'analyste Sacconaghi élégant de la recherche de Bernstein jetant plus de nombres autour dans ce qui ressemble au moins en partie à une tentative de justifier sa chaleur continue vers des actions d'Apple. Sacconaghi suggère que des 27 pour cent battant à plat de couture des iPhones vendus dans 2007 aient été ouverts et, dans la grande majorité de cas, sont employés dans les pays où le cellphone n'est pas officiellement disponible. Qu'établit autour derrière les combinés d'one-million débloqués, à chacun estimé produire 50 pour cent moins de revenu et de 75 pour cent moins de bénéfices pour Apple a comparé à ceux enregistrés aux porteurs autorisés.

After both AT&T and Apple reported strong performance in 2007, you’d think it would be a time of celebrations for market-weary analysts. However, discrepancies in the figures each company has presented are leading to head-scratching and an increasing number of questions. Apple has announced total iPhone sales of 3.7 million across the US and their European carrier partners; AT&T revealed yesterday that they sold 2 million of the handsets in 2007. With estimated European sales - likely something of a sore point at Cupertino - figured to be between 300,000 and 400,000, that leaves 1.3 million iPhones unaccounted for.

All signs are pointing to an announcement of iTunes movie rentals at Tuesday’s Macworld Expo; that’s the conclusion drawn after a Bloomberg report quoted “people familiar” with Apple’s upcoming addition to the media download service. Newcomers Warner Bros. and Fox will join existing studio partners Paramount, Walt Disney Co. and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. in making their films available for temporary download, priced at $3.99 for 24hrs.

Apple may not comment on rumors and speculation, but even they would likely agree that Jim Goldman may have just scuppered at least part of their holiday season profits. The CNBC writer quotes “a very good source of mine with good connections to Apple’s Asian manufacturing partners” in suggesting that the Cupertino-based company will be releasing the new 3G iPhone by May or June, as well as that we’re weeks away from the Macworld announcement of a $1,500 ultraportable MacBook laptop with 12-inch screen, flash memory rather than a hard drive and 50% thinner and lighter than existing models.
As Goldman notes, speculation about an SSD-based ultraportable has long been churned over online, but based on previous hardware reports and earlier information, the screen had been suggested as 13.1-inches rather than the 12 he claims.
