The Missing Sync improves data migration to iPhone over iSync

As anybody who has tried to move from one platform to another knows, sometimes swapping data between formats is easier said than done.  Back in September developer MarkSpace promised iPhone adopters a new version of their synchronisation software, The Missing Sync, in order to transfer information from their BlackBerry, Palm or Windows Mobile handheld, and they’ve made good on their promise with the newly available client.

mStation to Debut 2008 Product Lineup at CES

mStation logoToday mStation revealed it’s full line up of 2008 Morphie products for the iPod and iPhone. mStation’s previous line of products were designed for the iPod video 30gb & 80gb, 2nd gen iPod nano’s, and the 2nd gen iPod shuffles. In 2008 mStation is releasing an entire new line of products, from cases to stereo systems for all of Apple’s new iPod/iPhone models. Hit the cut for a sample of what mStation is debuting at CES.

iPod Touch VoIP developers turn attention to iPhone

Over at Apple-Touch.com, our iPod Touch obsessed sister-site, we’ve been gleefully watching the work of some VoIP-loving hackers as they not only developed a SIP-compatible app for the PMP but a plug-in microphone attachment to go with it.  Now they’re turning their attentions to the iPhone, which has long been pretty much at the mercy of whichever carrier has exclusivity in your country.  To try to accelerate the porting process they’ve thrown open their code cupboard and invited hackers, developers and tinkerers alike to experiment with the same software that enabled low-level recording on the iPod Touch, which turned out to be the lynch-pin of the VoIP application.

Leaked firmware ‘incomplete’: Will add Copy & Paste and other functionality

Analysis of what’s in and what’s missing from the leaked iPhone v1.1.3 firmware continues in earnest, with the current state of thought being that while the software Gear Live have acquired is seemingly legitimate, it may not in fact be in its final form.  Authenticity for the as-yet-unannounced v1.1.3 gained support from some patent-digging over at hrmpf.com, who managed to match up the ‘wiggling’ icons and rearrangeable Home screen to a previously granted Apple patent; compare their animation (constructed from patent illustrations) with the video Gear Live released:

Firmware v1.1.3 Confirmed

Over at Gearlive, Andrew has just upped Episode 195 of Bleeding Edge confirming everything that has been said about the new iPhone firmware version 1.1.3. Earlier this was all thought to be a big scam to get Gearlive a bunch of traffic, but it actually appears to be legit.
