mStation to Debut 2008 Product Lineup at CES

mStation logoToday mStation revealed it’s full line up of 2008 Morphie products for the iPod and iPhone. mStation’s previous line of products were designed for the iPod video 30gb & 80gb, 2nd gen iPod nano’s, and the 2nd gen iPod shuffles. In 2008 mStation is releasing an entire new line of products, from cases to stereo systems for all of Apple’s new iPod/iPhone models. Hit the cut for a sample of what mStation is debuting at CES.

iPhone GPS Dongle

iPhone GPS DongleNavizon had a great idea providing jailbroken iPhones with an ability to emulate GPS through tower triangulation, but it only gave somewhat accurate information. Partfoundry has developed a working prototype dongle for the jailbroken iPhone that provides real time GPS locationing with an accuracy of 16ft-32ft using the SiRF Star III chip. It’s sleek look definitely goes well with the iPhone. Though the dongle makes the iPhone a bit bigger, it can always be removed and used when needed. The dongle will be available from February 2008 at a respectable $89. Be sure to check the working prototype video after the cut.

iPhone v1.1.2 Boosts Clock Speed

While Apple continues to break our jailbreaks and 3rd party apps, they are working on the iPhone to make it faster and more battery efficient. The recent update of firmware v1.1.2 boosts the iPhone’s clock speed from a CPU Frequency of 400Mhz, and a Bus frequency of 100mHz, to a CPU frequency of 412Mhz, and a Bus frequency of 103Mhz. This information can be obtained via SysInfo in installer.app.

Macmall 2007 Black Friday Sale

Straight in line with all other stores on Black Friday, Macmall will be giving up to 22% off on select Apple products including Notebooks, iMacs, Mac Pro’s, Mac Mini’s, and the full range of iPod’s on Thursday the 22nd (Thanksgiving) and Friday the 23rd. There doesn’t appear to be any discounts on iPhone’s though. A sale of 22% off could mean some major savings on notebooks or other Apple computers.

iPhone screen damage: DIY or SOS?

Personally my DIY skills are just about limited to switching on the blender for some freshly crushed ice for my cocktail, but I know there are some of you out there a lot handier with their hands and for whom the thought of sending a gadget off for official - expensive - repair makes you half choke.  Over at iPhone Atlas they’ve been looking at options for when cellphone calamity strikes: a cracked iPhone screen.
