iPhone TurboSim 2008 - Taiwanese engineered edition

iPhone World:

A lot of our readers are probably familiar with TurboSim - one of the first hardware based iPhone unlockers that tricks the device into thinking that it’s working with an authentic AT&T sim card through a process called double-booting — which consists of the user attaching the TurboSim to his real card.

The original TurboSim was made by a Czech company called Bladox, whose online store does not accept orders at the moment. But Taiwanese manufacturer Taiwan Star Telecom (who manufacture MagicSim) made their own version of the TurboSim.

According to the description it works on latest OTB (out of the box) v1.1.2 iPhones (week 45 or newer), with 3G Sim card support and with STK function support.

While we can’t verify that this works, a demonstration video (below) is provided. For more information see the manufacturer’s website.

iPhone v1.1.3 Firmware jailbroken

iPhone World Ads: iPhone Accessories - Free iPhone - Unlimited iPhone Downloads - iPhone Games - Free iPod Touch

It appears that iPhones defences could not last a week from the furious attempts by hackers to jailbreak the device. Nevertheless, after many attempts, it finally gave up; some talented people have managed to jailbreak it.

In case our reader forgot, jailbreaking means that you can install unofficial 3rd party apps. Unfortunately, it is not going to be released to public yet, since jailbreaking 1.1.3 version is too complex for regular user without the knowledge of electronics to accomplish.

Here is YouTube video of an iPod Touch that was jailbroken in the same manner for sceptics out there.

We are eagerly awaiting its public release.

Next Stealth SIM2 USA iPhone v1.1.2 OOTB unlocker

iPhone World Ads: iPhone Accessories - Free iPhone - Unlimited iPhone Downloads - iPhone Games - Free iPod Touch

Sourcinngmap.com, a Hong Kong based online consumer electronics wholesaler, recently introduced the Next Stealth SIM2, an iPhone unlock kit specifically designed for USA version of the device (it will not work with European iPhones).

Next Stealth SIM2 unlocks the American version of the iPhone v1.1.2 OOTB (Out Of The Box) “with turbo speed” and retails for a reasonable $44.99. All it takes is a small corner cut on the SIM card and some adhesive tape. Such a SIM card can still work on ordinary phones. It also jailbreaks the iPhone which makes it ready to install any third party software.

The CEO of the company Mr. Alexander describes his company’s latest product: “It has been tested and will work on the latest OTB (out of the box) 1.1.2 iPhones, and future versions will expect to work too.” He also added: “Very little skill required, cut your SIM card corner and use it. No need for complex software command line or typing in Unix command.”

Apart from the simplicity of use the main advantage of employing the NEXT SIM2 over the competition is the intact warranty. As Mr. Alexander says: “Your Apple warranty will not be voided, you can send the phone back to Apple services in case you have to, unlike other baseband firmware crack down where Apple already said you will void warranty. You may even refund your iPhone at Apple shop if you don’t like it.”

Or in worst case scenario you could get some money from your friend for saving his/her precious toy. Whichever it is, you’re the winner, not your friend.
