ElectricPig.com reports to have heard from a trustworthy source in SlingMedia according to whom the SlingPlayer will soon be fully optimized and available for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
So far SlingPlayer has been available through the SlingBox, which allows its users to stream video from their home television over the internet to (almost) any Mac, PC, or mobile phone. According to the source, SlingMedia is currently trying to make sure that iPhone’s EDGE is fast enough to support their streaming media.
Additionally, MacRumors theorizes that SlingMedia might be one of the few lucky developers that got an early copy of the iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK). Apple has reportedly given out early versions of the iPhone SDK to select developers to ready some applications for the initial launch. The iPhone SDK is officially expected to be released in February 2008.

So the somewhat popular Opera internet browser might or might not be coming to iPhone. Why the confusion you may ask?
At the CES 2008 a member of Opera’s development team David Rosén told in a video interview (below) to UberPulse that Opera is coming to iPhone.
However, in a later update posted on Wired, Opera communications manager Michelle Valdivia Lien stated that “This is one of those cases of an enthusiastic developer answering a question theoretically. There are no current release plans for Opera Mini or any version of Opera for iPhone.”
So whatever the case is (developer being overly enthusiastic or communications manager pulling a plug on a potential early information leak), we will most likely have to wait for iPhone SDK to come out to find out the truth.

As the Sun reports, David and Victoria Beckham gave their 8-year-old son Brooklyn an iPhone as a Christmas present.
The Sun’s source said: “David and Victoria are aware that Brooklyn is very young to have a mobile. But they thought it would be a good idea so he could call them whenever he needed - especially with David and Victoria globe-trotting so much.”
“Brooklyn is really switched on with computers and gadgets. He set his heart on the iPhone when he saw it on TV in America.”
“He loves computer games and is always on his PSP handheld console.â€
There have already been some criticizing comments on that. Child expert Dreena Hamilton, of the Channel 4 show Bringing Up Baby, warned the Beckhams on risk of spoiling their son. She said: “An eight-year-old can have no possible use for an iPhone - it’s irrelevant to his life.â€
We do not think that there would be anything wrong in teaching young people how to use modern and breakthrough technology. Can not wait to see what will Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo and Cruz get when they will turn eight.

According to Gear Live, the new version of Apple’s iPhone firmware — 1.1.3 — that is to be presented soon may not bring enough changes to satisfy its users. Steve Jobs plans to announce the new version of iPhone software next month. We’ve already managed to get some leaked information on what a new firmware may change:
As Gear Live reports the new firmware will be able to handle SMS to multiple recipients, the home screen supports reordered icons, web bookmarks, and Google maps finally gets hybrid-view and that nifty cell-based location system.
The home screen pagination seem to be, however, an implication of the future third-party developments coming after the introduction of SDK in February.

After the likes of Pharrell and Rosie O’Donell, ex-president of the USA Bill Clinton is the latest celebrity to join the “I-like-iPhone” circle, and apparently Steve Jobs got him one on the house. At least if this following rumor is to be believed.
As this blogger writes:
I got my iphone signed by Bill Clinton
Sounds funny right. But I am dead serious. He signed my iphone and we had friendly conversation about it. He told me that Steve Jobs got him one too.
I wanted to tell that Al Gore is on apple’s board of directors, he should be able to get prerelease version with 3g or smth, but he was already taken away by his escort….
