Much like their Showtime app, their Search app features an intuitive interface for browsing your iPhone’s various lists and finding specific people, places, and times.

Unlike the iPhone’s default UI, the Search app can allow you to search for specific people on your contacts list by names, company, position, department, or any notes you have on them. Calling them up is as simple as hitting the ‘Dial’ button next to their name, afterward.
Another feature the iPhone lacked was the ability to search Calendar events. Search fixes that, too. Now you can browse Calendar appointments by summary, description, location, or other obvious tell-tales of what you wrote in.
Lastly, if you happened to be tired of the tedious searching through Calendar events, you can simply put in a date and jump directly to it, instead of loading up the appropriate app and going through the actual calendar.
If these features impress you at all, or you’re simply done with the tedium, please head over to Polar Bear Farms’ website and look into Search.
Another handy app by Polar Bear Farms is Showtime, which is another recording program, that’s usable by a couple button presses to start/stop audio and/or video recording easily. Unlike other programs, this one has a 6 Frames per Second capture rate and an unlimited capture amount (5 second limit on unregistered version) which converts into a raw, uncompressed fire format.
Showtime is also available (with video) on PBF’s website, opposite Search.

While iClueless is a fairly descriptive name for a program, don’t be alarmed if you are clueless. After all you can use iClueless to get a clue… All puns aside, iClueless for iPhone is a pretty cool Safari web application that serves as a unified iPhone optimized portal for very useful web services.
Included by its makers, Efiko Software, among others, are: Google and Yahoo search, eBay, flickr, dictionary, and much more.

To access iClueless for iPhone point your iPhone Safari browser over to www.iclueless.com (no, this is not an elaborate joke of some kind, really! although do try convincing your best friend to load up iclueless.com on his iPhone with an evil grin on your face…).

Amazon is finally iPhone-viewable to the public, making the extremely popular online retailer gain an edge in impulsive buying (though it’s certainly not the first or the last to get in on some iPhone action).

You can view the new site on your iPhone here. Just about everything you need to get done on the Amazon website is accessible to the iPhone.
Thanks: Insanely Great Mac

WhatsOpen.com is now testing their social searching network, allowing people to search for their favorite locations, or noted hot spots. It’s slated for open beta testing on the iPhone and Google Android sometime in early 2008. Please read the press release below for details.
By using proprietary algorithms and allowing users to contribute to the site by inputting their favorite locations, WhatsOpen.com has grown a database to over 50 Million global listings. Over 1 Million of which can be found live on the California beta now.

Using algorithms for checks and balances, users can add, edit, upload, mash, share, invite, mob, and swarm to favorite locations and hot spots. An entire social platform, which currently powers the private alpha version, is being brought to the public beta in the first part of 2008.
Users from all states in the US, as well as Europe and China, can also sign up to be enrolled in the private alpha system. All locations are scheduled to reach public beta in the first part of 2008.
“What we are developing, the majority of which remains in the private alpha, and where we are going with the website is new territory. Sure, there are many services that give people local data, some of which have been around for a decade. These existing websites are really going to help us get to where we are going. We don’t see the existing websites as competition, we see them all as very beneficial to our long term vision.” said Jason Aaron, founder of the project.
The Apple iPhone and Google Android Applications are in private alpha and will begin to be rolled out to the public in public beta over the next 60 days. “We will be rolling out these apps to the public based on a first come, first serve basis through the email sign up at our website.” said Li Qin Su, one of the lead mobile developers on the project in China.
Social networking apps built for Facebook’s F8, Google’s Open Social, and other open platforms will tie much of this together and be available in the US, Brazil, Europe, and China in the first part of 2008.
“We are really excited to bring all of these developments to the public in 2008 and it’s important to remember that this is a true beta system which we are continually working on improving.” said Scarlett Quinn, lead web programmer on the project in California.
