NBC schlagen vor, daß Apple iTunes Wiedervereinigung bald kommen konnte

Haben zog ihren Inhalt heftig von den iTunes, nachdem es mit Apple über den Preisen argumentiert hat, die für Bildschirm aufgeladen werden - und die Firma des Zerschneidens der Kosten von Erscheinen wie dem Büro und scheuert, um sich iPod Verkäufe zu fördern beschuldigt hat - NBC sind jetzt anscheinend nah an dem Bilden. In a Finanzielle Zeiten Report über Netz CEO Jeff Zucker, der NBC Kopf-honcho schlägt vor, daß Arbeitsverhältnisse anfangen, herauf ausgebessert zu werden:

Die Film-Mieten Apples, die in der Theorie groß sind, saugt in der Praxis

Steve Jobs' viel-Reklamerummel veranstalteter Filmmieteservice schaut alles feine und dandy, aber die Frage in meinem Verstand ist: „Wie lang es ist, bevor der Service anbietet einen einzelnen annehmbaren Film Miete?“

Zur Zeit sind die Filme auf Angebot sogar shittier als der lokale videospeicher oder jene vorhandenen Bedarfs- von meinem Kabel providor, Comcast, das äußerst stinkt.

Es' d drückt nieder, wenn alles angebotene Apple Popcornabfall war. Sicher dient der Service das demographische Unrecht. Frühe Adoptierende, die Art, die heraus gelaufen, um einen AppleTV Kasten zu kaufen, sicher mehr an weniger Hauptströmungsfahrpreise interessiert werden. Wie lang ist es, bevor es einige unabhängige Filme, Klassiker, artsy fartsy fremdes Material und Genretitel gibt?

Alle Zeichen zeigen auf eine Ansage der iTunes Filmmieten auf Expo Macworld Dienstages; die ist die Zusammenfassung, die nach a gezeichnet wird Bloomberg Report quoted “people familiar” with Apple’s upcoming addition to the media download service. Newcomers Warner Bros. and Fox will join existing studio partners Paramount, Walt Disney Co. and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. in making their films available for temporary download, priced at $3.99 for 24hrs.

Video Rental is a Better Business for Apple Than Movie Sales

BusinessWeek reports that sources claim Apple has a deal with Fox, Warner Bros., Paramount, and Lionsgate to allow sales, rentals or both through iTunes. If so, this could prove a huge boon for Apple. At last year’s All Things D conference, CEO Steve Jobs referred to its digital television device business as “a hobby.” Though promising an iPod for the living room, the AppleTV has been quite slow to catch on by Apple’s recent standards. That’s according to sales estimates from analysts and also anecdotal evidence: I’ve been to a lot of geeks’ houses in San Francisco and never seen a single AppleTV in the living room.

At this point, I’m ready to admit that Apple’s assumptions for the movie market were flat-out wrong — barely anyone wants to own movies in download format alone. I haven’t bought a single film myself, but there have been plenty of times when I would gladly rent a movie download — it’s faster than NetFlix and easier than walking down the street to Blockbuster. At the same time, for the movies I love, I want a tangible artifact to hold onto. I want to explore their special features and revisit favorite scenes. At the moment, Apple’s downloads are worse than what I can get at the store. But a rental? Heck, if it means staying on the coach, I’m in. Especially if it’s less than $3.

One step closer to wireless iTunes sync

With the iPhone and iPod Touch both having WiFi, it’s mightily confusing that Apple are yet to enable wireless synchronisation with iTunes rather than having to directly dock the gadgets with your PC or Mac. Developer francisois agrees, but rather than grumble under his breath has instead set to work with his own software, iPhone iSync, that’s attempting to unlock that functionality.
