Goldstriker, who - depending on your taste in metal plating - either make the iPhone even more beautiful courtesy of precious metals or turn it into a gaudy, over-blinged embarrassment, have once again unleashed their electroplater and come up with the Solar Star edition. Both the front bezel of the handset, and the Apple logo on the rear, are 24ct gold plated. Meanwhile, the rest of the casing, including the antenna cover, is painted in the same Balloon White as you might find on a Lamborghini Gallardo.
That adds up to a white and gold cellphone, colors more usually found in the bathroom of a somewhat old-fashioned five star hotel. Goldstriker do at least provide them updated to firmware 1.1.4 and unlocked for worldwide GSM use. The iPhone itself is the 16GB version.
Personally, as with much of Goldstriker’s range, it’s not to my taste. In fact I think Apple did a pretty good job with designing the iPhone as it is, and it doesn’t really need a 24ct makeover. So that’s saved me £749.95 ($1,477).

The Black Night iPhone is the iPhone at it’s most expensive. It is for the true connoisseur of iPhone fans. It is elegantly lined with 24ct gold on the iPhone’s front bezel. The back of the phone is painted in a custom black paint. This paint is normally reserved only for the finest of Bentley’s autos.
The back of the iPhone also sees a 24ct gold Apple logo. The phone itself is the 16GB model, for which to hold all the Liberace and Beethoven stuffed in the cherry wood shelves in your library. Goldstriker is not calling it quits there by any means. They have expressed interest in a Lamborghini and Jaguar themed gold laden iPhone.
This beautifully crafted iPhone can be had for GBP699.95 ($1384). It is quite a chunk of coin to invest in this bad boy. Someone needs to tell Goldstriker the new iPhone is coming out soon. How are all these high priced iPhones going to look to their owners when they are old news?

Goldstriker, the UK firm that specialises in adding extra luxury (and exclusivity) to personal electronics, have unveiled their latest 24ct tweak to the iPhone range: a leather and gold re-trim of the Apple handset. Adding the sort of hide you’d usually find cladding the seats of a Ferrari or Bentley, together with lashings of real gold, the company also adds quite a bit to the iPhone’s price tag: they’re estimating it’ll be around £900 ($1,800) when it goes on sale at the end of April.
