Sure, it is just something some Apple fan boy came up with, but I doubt him or the other members of the Factory Joe blog are too far off. Chances are real good that we actually can expect something of this nature soon.

They even supposition the idea of up to a 64GB SSD, sure, that sounds great, but right now that would push this device into the same price range as the larger MacBook Pro’s maybe even higher. Personally I think a device with about half that storage, but a larger multi-touch screen, a faster processor and some dedicated system RAM as well as more ports and a fuller version of OS X would be great.

Could it be another go at the Newton? Could it be My iTablet? Or could it be a MacBook Touch? Maybe an Apple UMPC?

Right now no one knows for sure, what is known is that there are reports of a touchscreen device that is larger than the iPhone with a bigger, better, multi-touch touchscreen. What is also known is that the engineers from this project have on occasion taken time off from this project to work on the iPhone, which means to some extent, they are interchangeable. Could the next iPhone or the latest iteration of the iPod have this technology implemented into it? If Apple were to implement a multi-touch LCD like this into their devices the applications would be nearly endless.

Just imagine being able to use multiple gestures at a time to edit videos and photos you just took with your iPhone. Another possible use would be in the music industry, making and producing beats right on your iPod or iPhone.
