Last Friday we told you we were putting Griffin’s contentious ClearBoost iPhone Case through its paces: Griffin’s sales claim is that the ClearBoost’s in-built copper antenna strip is enough to give you an extra bar or two of coverage when using AT&T’s network. Since then, iPhone Buzz has been hauling the case around various areas of great, middling and patchy coverage, trying to work out whether the $29.99 Griffin are asking is a steal or just daylight robbery.

One of the most arduous tasks iPhone owners likely face is video conversion. Most of the video content ripped from DVDs or downloaded from the internet is in a format that isn’t iPhone or iPod friendly. The iPhone is arguably one of the most beautiful mobile phones available today and it’s only natural to want to protect all that shiny goodness. Unfortunately a majority of the cases out there don’t fit in the iPhone’s dock, forcing you to either remove the case every time you want to charge, or neglecting the dock and merely using the cable. Thankfully the innovative folks at SendStation have come up with the Dock Extender which lets you dock your iPhone while keeping it inside of a case.

Microsoft doesn’t often play David to someone else’s Goliath, but on Tuesday the PC software giant debuts the redesigned portable music players that it is pitting against Apple’s industry-dominating iPods. The new Zune models and accompanying software correct many of the original flaws noted by consumers and reviewers after the gadget launched just in time for holiday shopping last year. Microsoft must gain strength and credibility in the portable music market over the next several years, industry experts say. Apple controls more than 70 percent of sales.
