It offers a few advantages over Apple's app, like landscape mode for everything in the app, the ability to organize messages into folders, save drafts, search messages by the sender's name and more.

AT&T's free Wi-Fi for subscribers to their iPhone data plans sounds great and all, and goodness knows we've been waiting for it long enough, but you have to jump through quite a few hoops to access it. Now it turns out that not only do they require cell data access, but the complicated process may make some users unable to use it.

Yet another security flaw in the iPhone's software had been found, and while it's probably not particularly harmful to the majority of users, it is pretty interesting. Karl Kraft posted the exploit on his blog, but he wasn't the one to uncover it. No, despite his skills with a computer and knowledge of the software, he didn't find it. Instead he says it was found by his 12-year-old son.

Apple is continuing to do what they can to get the word out about their recall of the faulty Ultracompact USB Power Adapters. Yesterday they issued an SMS message to all iPhone 3G owners in the affected areas notifying them about the recall and telling them what they should do if they are affected by it.

Those of you who are fans of SwirlyMMS will be happy to know that the SwirlySpace Team announced that SwirlyMMS 1.2 for firmware 2.x has been released. For those of you who aren't familiar, SwirlyMMS is a stand-in MMS app that lets you send multimedia messages to other SwirlyMMS users. You can send images, text, audio, video, as well as any other filetype you want. 2.1 is compatible with both 2G and 3G iPhones and is now available in Cydia for download.
