The iPhone 3G’s weren’t supposed to go up in their displays until the device had actually launched, but one has found it’s way to a display stand in a Swiss iPhone 3G store well ahead of it’s intended launch date, where it can be walked up to, picked up, and played with by anyone to walk in off the street. iPhone 3G prices and rate plans/tariffs have been announced for the Netherlands with T-Mobile, Switzerland with Swisscom, and Hong Kong with 3. T-Mobile is offering a base plan of €29.95/month for 150 minutes and 150 SMS, and the iPhone will cost €79.95 for the 8GB and €159.95 for the 16GB. Their midrange plan costs €44.95/month offers 300 minutes and 300 SMS messages, and lowers the price of the 8GB to €1 or €79.95 for the 16GB.

Orange has just announced that they will provide the iPhone is new countries such as: Austria, Belgium, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland. Vodafone has announced back on the 6th of May that they will deliver the iPhone in those countries: South Africa, Australia, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, New Zealand, Portugal, Turkey and Czech Republic.
Apparently we’re going to see some competition in several countries around the iPhone, let’s see if it makes the price going down…
