A reader of the computer technology website PC Advisor is claiming to have information on the plans for the new iPhone's launch at Carphone Warehouse in the UK. He claims that a staff member at his local store revealed times and dates for the launch on his computer.

O2 To Start iPhone 3G Launch At 7AM, First Come First Served

O2 has announced further details regarding the iPhone 3G launch later this month. The company said that their stores will be opening to sell the new device on the 11th at 7AM. They also said that devices will be limited to one per customer, and will be offered on a first come first served basis, and that they will be offering more details on how to pre-order an iPhone 3G before the 11th.

O2 Ireland Confirms Two-Step Activation Process For iPhone 3G

O2 Ireland has confirmed that the activation process for the iPhone 3G will be a two-step process for their customers. As was said earlier by an O2 UK employee, customers will have the opportunity to sign up for contracts in advance of the July 11th launch, so that when they arrive that day, they can simply have the already activated SIM card placed into the iPhone, which they then go home and sync with the latest version of iTunes.

Telefonica Pre-Registers 300,000 iPhone 3G Customers In UK, Spain

Telefonica has announced that they have received 300,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 3G in the U.K. and Spain combined. According to their spokesperson, customers have been reserving their iPhone 3G on the company's website ever since Telefonica announced that they would be offering it earlier this month. Telefonica was already the official carrier of the first generation of iPhone in the U.K. and Ireland as O2, and will be expanding this to Spain, the Czech Republic, and twelve Latin American countries on July 11.

O2 Pay-as-you-Go Pricing Posted, Removed

O2 posted a page on their website earlier today with details on the iPhone 3G pay-as-you-go plan. According to the page, the device itself under the new plan would cost £300 (about $593) for an 8GB iPhone 3G, and £360 (about $711) for the 16GB. It includes six months of Wi-Fi and browsing, after which you can purchase Wi-Fi and browsing for another £10/month (about $20). The offer would be available to all new and upgrading customers who purchase the iPhone 3G until December 31.
