On Tuesday, wireless carrier Telecom Italia announced assorted details as to its two-year subscription prices for the iPhone 3G. Though the carrier has yet to disclose the full cost of its plans, the iPhone 3G handset should retail for about €199 with an entry-level subscription.

According to an industry publication, Apple Stores in the UK may not be able to sell the iPhone 3G when the July 11th launch date rolls around. The issue stems from the fact that their new policy requires customers to sign up for a contract in-store instead of through iTunes at home. However, Apple UK stores are not able to run credit checks, and store staff have yet to be trained in getting customers signed up for contracts.

Very interesting graph from Admob this month, of course United States are the big market for the iPhone, but the second one is not UK, it’s France!!! The fourth market is Canada, without official provider, we can easily measure the unlocked market of the iPhone, between 20% and 40%.
And here is an interesting pie chart showing that US iPhone users surf on Internet with Edge much more than I thought, around 46%. So it means that the iPhone is a real “mobile” Internet device, even without Wifi available.

There’s plenty to love, and plenty to lament about Apple’s new mobile. With its solid design and a beautiful, touch-sensitive 480 x 320-pixel screen the iPhone is beautiful to look at and a joy to use. Its browser, while not as versatile as the one on a desktop or laptop, is impressive and - at a stroke - has made all other mobile internet devices look antiquated and woeful. And of course, it works fine for making phone calls.
