We feel sorry for the Europeans, they might have to wait till spring 2008. According to reuters yesterday. Currently the iPhone is based on 2.5G edge technology, while operators heavily invested in faster 3G networks the past years. the iPhone has to be modified to suit the european operators UMTS networks. Vodafone, europe’s biggest is really looking forward for a 3G UMTS iPhone version and like all european operators, a $$$ agreement like AT&T in the US.
