SonicSIM: iPhone v1.1.2 unlocked?
Although attempts to break iPhone v1.1.2 firmware’s provider lock protection via software ways so far proved to be fruitless and even prompted a full open source code release of AnySIM iPhone unlocker by its developers (who are hoping that this will motivate someone to break v1.1.2 iPhone unlock protection), now there’s hope for iPhone owners everywhere to have their v1.1.2 headsets unlocked, all without using any software hacks.

This story begins with a demonstration video (below) of a certain SIM card device called SonicSIM being used to unlock an iPhone with v1.1.2 firmware being posted online.
Upon further examination SonicSIM appears to be a successor to TurboSIM, a way to “sort of” unlock your iPhone we discussed earlier this year, by tricking it into thinking you’ve got the proper SIM card using dual boot.
However, posters on several forums claim that this video is fake. Whatever the case is, since we don’t have access to one of these SonicSIMs, you be the judge.
