Unconfirmed: AT&T To Subsidize 3G iPhone by $200

According to Fortune writer Scott Moritz, AT&T is planning to subsidize the cost of the next iPhone by $200. Citing a source close to the strategy, the 3G iPhone, “due out in summer”, will reportedly be subsidized by AT&T in order to drive sales of the device. Subsidies will be offered to customers signing a two-year contract. Fortune’s source also claims that the new iPhone will be 2.5mm thinner and incorporate a GPS location chip.
