Wolfenstein RPG Coming to iPhone

This year’s E3 has some goodies for iPhone and Touch owners the world over. This time, EA Mobile has decided to lift the veil on the future release of id Software’s Wolfenstein RPG.

Based around the original Wolfenstein 3D series, which kickstarted the whole first-person shooter era on the PC, Wolfenstein RPG will put you back into the role of B.J. Blazkowicz, combining familiar FPS elements with additional RPG elements such as character levels, experience points, in a quest to assault Castle Wolfenstein and shut down the Nazi Paranormal Division. During your campaign, you will encounter 32 different enemies, including super soldiers, elite guards, zombies, and tormenters, across 9 levels, plus a couple of amusing mini-games, “War” and “Kick the Chicken,” for a change of pace. (I’m guessing the latter will be something like “Super Turbo Turkey Puncher III” from Doom 3) You’ll come across 17 different weapons, both conventional and paranormal, discover secret treasures, earn medals, read books (which may enhance your abilities, much like certain books in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion did) and apparently be able pick up objects and hit enemnies with them.

No iPhone screenshots yet, so check below for screenies from their Java/AJAX version below. (No, they don’t get bigger if you click them. That’s the actual resolution. The iPhone version will obviously be larger.)
